Why I Created MultiDocMerge:

As a paralegal, I spent years working with law firms that prepared documents using Find and Replace. Every new client meant opening document after document and repeatedly replacing names, addresses, dates, and other information. The process was tedious, time-consuming, and often took hours to complete.

To improve the workflow, I converted our forms into Word mail merge templates. While that helped, I still had to move in and out of mail merge for each document, save files individually, and organize them into client folders. It was faster than Find and Replace, but it still required too many manual steps and consumed valuable time.

I also explored Power Automate. While it is a powerful tool, I found it complicated to set up and maintain without a technical background. I ran into challenges with file linking and spent more time managing the process than I felt I should have. I wanted a solution that legal professionals could use without needing to become automation experts.

That's when I set out to create MultiDocMerge.

MultiDocMerge allows users to enter information once and instantly generate an entire package of Word documents in seconds. It automatically populates multiple templates, names the files, and saves them in the correct client folder.

But I didn't stop there.

To take the process even further, I developed an attorney intake system that captures client information during the consultation and automatically sends that data into MultiDocMerge. By the time the client meeting is over, document preparation is already complete and ready for attorney review. There is no need for a paralegal to re-enter the same information a second time.

MultiDocMerge isn't just my story—it's a family story. While the vision, workflow, and legal expertise came from my years as a paralegal, I couldn't have brought this idea to life alone without my beloved family. My husband and sister, both with computer programming backgrounds, transformed that vision into reality by writing the software behind MultiDocMerge. My daughter and boyfriend built the website and helped create the online presence for the application. I am incredibly grateful for each of them. Their talent, encouragement, and belief in this project made it possible to turn an idea born from frustration into a solution that now helps legal professionals save countless hours.

I didn't create MultiDocMerge as a software developer looking for a project. I created it as a paralegal who experienced the frustration of repetitive document preparation firsthand and knew there had to be a better way. What once took hours can now be completed in seconds.
